Dots

Dermoscopic Description
Small areas of colour which are too small to make out their shape.

What the structures correspond to histologically
Localised pigment, which may be black/brown/blue/grey if caused by melanin, or red/purple colours if caused by haemoglobin.

Lesions in which the structures arise
Dots are seen in benign melanocytic lesions and melanomas, as well as seborrhoeic keratoses, particularly lichenoid keratoses, and several vascular lesions.
