Globules

Dermoscopic Description
Globules are well-defined solid areas of colour, large enough to see their shape that can be rounded or sometimes irregular. They are commonly brown, but can be black or blue, or pink in lightly pigmented lesions. Although a globule is sometimes referred to as a clod, the term globule is often used when describing melanocytic lesions

What the structures correspond to histologically
Localised pigment. Black colour is due to melanin the stratum corneum. Brown corresponds to melanin at the dermoepidermal junction. Blue or grey colour is due to melanin in the dermis.

Found in melanocytic lesions.
