A range of skin conditions can be aggravated or exacerbated by natural or artificial UV or visible radiation, although they also occur in the absence of sun exposure. This chapter provides a list of such conditions. For conditions caused (rather than aggravated) by UV exposure refer to the related chapter on photodermatoses - an overview.
The conditions listed below are heterogeneous and generally only a proportion of patients with such conditions experience photoaggravation and they may or may not be aware of the triggering role of sunlight.
